Patient Information And Resources
Due to the coronavirus outbreak, how you contact us will be different at the moment. This is to limit face-to-face contact whenever possible and help stop the spread of coronavirus.
We are open and if you need to see your GP, please visit our website www.pennylanesurgery.nhs.uk to complete an e-consultation.
If your query is urgent or you are unable to complete an e-consultation, please ring us on 0151 733 2800. Please be aware that you may be asked to call us back after 1pm if our morning appointments have been booked.
Face-to-face appointments are available to all patients, but you may be asked to discuss your conditions over the phone or online first to assess what would be most appropriate for you. You can also call NHS 111.
Please do not come to the surgery unless you have an appointment.
If you are asked to come into the surgery for a face-to-face appointment, please remember to wear a face covering. Measures are in place to keep you safe from infection during your visit to the surgery.
Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our open access surgeries have been suspended until further notice.
Did you know you can book your appointment online?
Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our online appointments have been suspended until further notice.
Patients can see a Practice Nurse by pre-booking an appointment in advance. Please contact reception on 0151 733 2800 to book an appointment.
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer online booking of Practice Nurse appointments as appointments with the Nurse vary in length depending on the reason for the appointment and this function is not currently available on our online access website.
Please cancel any appointments you are unable to attend. This ensures the appointment can be booked by a patient who does need to see a GP.
You can contact the NHS 111 service by dialling 111 from your telephone or searching for 111 online if you are using the internet. The NHS 111 service will provide you with any necessary care that you may need if your GP surgery is closed.
For you convenience we offer useful documents for downloading.

Named Accountable General Practitioner
Upon registration with the surgery all patients will have been allocated a 'Named Accountable GP'. This is purely an administrative procedure and does not affect your care at the surgery in any way. All patients are welcome to see the GP of their choice, there is no obligation for a GP to see a patient on the basis that they are their named GP.
If you are unsure of your Named Accountable GP and wish to find out please call into the surgery or contact us by telephone to enquire.
